Lawrence Chu is an entrepreneur, patron of the arts & education, the co-founder of The Chu Foundation and the Founder and Chairman of BlackPine Group.

As a private, family-owned organization, values drive their strategy. In various divisions of the Group, they have backed innovative businesses globally such as Just Egg, which focuses on bringing sustainable and healthier food to the world; Fnatic, which represents the future of entertainment and sports; to Letgo & Wallapop, two companies changing the way we acquire everyday items. In addition to the business, the firm prides itself in its philanthropic activities. They focus their giving on global education, global arts & culture, as well as welfare of the people of Hong Kong.

Mr. Chu is a member of the Tate’s Asia-Pacific Acquisitions Committee, a Patron of the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art Council in Beijing, a governor of the Smart Museum Board of Governors and served as a governor of the Alumni Board of Governors at the University of Chicago. Moreover, he is a member of the Hong Kong United Youth Association, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Private Equity and Venture Capital Association serving on the Venture Committee.
